Lodestone is built to do one thing well and to leave your data alone. The short version: Lodestone collects nothing.

What we collect

Nothing. Lodestone does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers or SDKs.

Microphone

Lodestone needs your microphone to do its job: hearing the note you play. Audio from the microphone is processed live, entirely on your device, only to detect pitch. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Nothing is sent off the device, and nothing is kept after the sound has been analyzed. The app also works without a network connection.

The web tuner

The live tuner on this website works the same way. When you tap to tune, your browser asks permission to use your microphone, and the audio is analyzed locally in the browser to find the note. No audio leaves your device, and this site stores nothing about you.

Data sharing

Because Lodestone collects no data, there is nothing to sell, share, or hand to third parties, ever.

Children's privacy

Lodestone is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Since the app collects no data, any changes are expected to be minor.
